Avid Media Composer Root Drive
3 - MC will automatically create a single folder called 'Avid MediaFiles' on the root level. DO NOT RENAME or MODIFIY THIS FOLDER. Basically what the title says. I have an avid media composer first project, with all of it's media, on an external drive. When I have it open at my personal windows 10 PC, all the media correctly loads. However, when I open it on my school's mac, everything is unlinked. Create a document named Avid MediaFiles on the root level of the local drive. Relaunch Media Composer and verify in your Media Creation settings.
Basically what the title says. I have an avid media composer first project, with all of it's media, on an external drive. When I have it open at my personal windows 10 PC, all the media correctly loads. However, when I open it on my school's mac, everything is unlinked. If I then delete all the media and replace them on the mac, they become unlinked when I open the project at home.
I'm thinking it has to do with the drive names, and that maybe avid needs to figure out where to find the media. I tried relinking, but to no avail. I also tried to do the 're-import' from source browser or whatever, but that failed also.

My drive is formatted for exFAT to let it work on both PC and Mac.

My 'Avid Media Files' folder is also on the root level of my external drive. Do I need to tell avid to relocate the Avid Media Files folder? If so, how?
All my media is linked. It wouldn't let me import it on my home PC, even though I installed quicktime VIA AVID'S INBUILT QUICKTIME INSTALLER.
I am a broke college student trying to relive childhood dreams. Go on eBay and search for game keys from people selling the game and dumb enough to expose the cd keys. I'm sure you can torrent the game files but cd keys for online play will be your issue. 
Both Diablo 2 and LoD download 200 kilobytes of data and then die suddenly when I try downloading them from the Classic Downloads.
EDIT: one my my friends tried to do the same thing, and it worked for him, however I don't know if he linked or imported the footage.

hello. started film school this week and they want us to use avid as our edit software. but I have problem. when I launch the software it says 'no media can be written to any mounted drive'. so checked at their website and they told me to change MacintoshHD premission to readwrite for everyone. but I can't do that although I am the only user of the computer. any other solution please? I really need it for my school.
I am using MacBook Pro 2016 with high Sierra osx
